Author talk – Sarah Connell
You are invited to an Author Talk from local author Sarah Connell at The Gissing Centre, (56 Westgate, Wakefield WF1 1XF) on Wednesday, March 20, from 6.30 – 8pm. The Gissing Centre on the passage to Thompsons Yard is the childhood home of the Wakefield writer, George Gissing.

The doors will open at 6.30 to provide a chance to look around this small museum and learn more about the home and family of this important 19th century writer.

Sarah discusses her novel about the migration crisis
At 7pm you can Settle down to hear Sarah Connell discuss her novel about the migration crisis ‘Where Are You Now?’ The character of the asylum seeker in the story is based on a real person who came to Wakefield District City of Sanctuary for help.
Sarah Connell
Sarah volunteered for many years for the Wakefield District City of Sanctuary. Sarah was first published at the age of 70 and now has three novels, with another one on the way. Wakefield is the setting for her writing and her characters. Sarah will talk about how she came to be published and what she has learnt in the process. Light refreshments will be available.
