The Library
Visit the library in “Wakefield One” to borrow books, access computers, and learn English online for free!
Quaker Meeting House
This popular venue has a long history of welcoming people to Wakefield.
Theatre
They have weekly sessions for adults and families.
The Art House
The Art House is both a Studio of Sanctuary and a Gallery of Sanctuary, and as such is especially welcoming to new visitors to Wakefield.
The Spring Community Café
Bring your Welcome to Wakefield card and show it to staff in the café to be sure of a warm welcome! As well as a cafe is also a fascinating shop for you to look around.
Our House
Our House is an LGBTQ+ community café based at 172 Kirkgate. It offers a safe and comfortable space for everyone to be themselves.
Portobello Community Centre
A community centre for the people of Portobello, Wakefield. Space for social and creative wellbeing.
The Hepworth
The Hepworth Wakefield is an award-winning art gallery set within Wakefield’s historic waterfront overlooking the River Calder.
Penny Appeal
The Penny Appeal campus in Thornes Park is the location of a drop-in open to all.
